Hi everyone ! π How are you doing today ? What kind of wheather do you have right now ? Here,it’s quite windy, both sunny and rainy, which despairs me honestly. I can’t wait for Summer, it’s sooo hard to wait. π₯
It’s been a long time since I last posted DIYs. And today, I’m back with these. I missed DIYs so much. So get prepared for the next months, I will post a maximum of DIYs out there. So today, I’m gonna start with something I have wanted to make for a long time: a picnic set. I’ll show you how to make mugs, napkins, a tablecloth, plates and a pillow case.
So let’s get started at this instant ! π
#Pillow Case
You’ll need two identical squares of white fabric(for measurements, do according to your pillow). Sew along three sides and hem on the fourth side. On the fourth side, use a button to easily close the pillow case.
Now take your fabric pens and draw the pattern on the fabric. Use a cardboard piece to place under to protect.
#Tablecloth
Cut a square of 1m each side. Hem it. Now, as we’re making a picnic tablecloth, we want to make sure that it won’t get too much dirty after being places on the grass. So, we have to protect it. Take transparent plastic sheets. (From wrappings etc) and glue them on the back of the tablecloth. The idea is to cover all the back with transparent plastic sheets to make it waterproof and prevent grass wetness to transfer to our lovely ( π ) tablecloth. Use hot glue or multi-purpose glue.
Then, don’t forget to take again your fabric pens and draw the same pattern on different spots.
#Napkins
Cut off two squares of 25cm each side. Hem all along and draw the pattern using your fabric pens.
#Mugs
To make these two mugs, you’ll need two jars with lid. You may paint the lids if needed. Then, all you have to do, is to paint the pattern on your mugs. For this, you’ll need nailpolishes and top coat. Take a green, a blue and a pink nailpolish. Draw the pattern. Let it dry. When it’s dry, apply a layer of top coat on to fix it and make sure it won’t collapse when you wash it. About that, I recommend you to only handwash. Let it dry again and you’re done! π
#Plates
Last DIY. We need some plates. You’ll need two white or transparent plates. You can use porcelain, glass or any other kind. Mine were in cardboard as I had nothing else in my house. But it still works, it’s just less pretty. π¦
Again, use nailpolishes to paint the pattern. Use the same technique than for the mugs. Ans I also recommend you to handwash.
Now that your set is ready, prepare a delicious salad, some yummy sandwiches, your favourite cookies and a refreshing lemonade. (Don’t forget to bring drinking straws.) Pack everything in a basket and go find the perfect spot to enjoy.
I wish you a wonderful picnic time in the countryside! π
I hope you like this post and these DIYs. I admit I had a good time preparing this post. π
