Hello there! Welcome back on the blog for a brand new year! Another year to create and share!
I wanted to start the new year by sharing a small DIY I made recently. It’s been quite a while since I last shared some DIYs. It used to be my top category around here and with time, it got less present. Anyway. The DIY I want to share with you today, was one of my Christmas gifts to my mom. When you don’t have a lot of many but still want to give something, you have to be creative. It’s also a good way of going outside of the wishlist and surprise even more the person you give to. I also think that giving something you made by yourself with your hands and your imagination has more value than just buying something on Internet or in a shop. While the second one may lack personnality, the first one shows one thing: you spend a certain amount of time thinking of the person, making something unique only for this person. And that is really powerful in my opinion.
The idea of this craft came as I found in my craft supplies some pinetree apples, shaped like roses. They’re from one kind of cedar, I don’t know exactly which one. But still, they’re very pretty. So I decided to make some 3D Wall-art. I covered with a pretty silver wrapping paper a piece of thick cardboard and start creating a scenery. I used some of this “cedar roses”, some white foam roses and some green leaves, from an old fake plant (recycle, repurpose, this is what defines my life 😅) to create some floral arrangments on both sides. And I used some flat glass drops to imitate raindrops.
On the back, I glued two pins and attach a string to them, so the wall-art would be easy to hang on the wall.
It was a simple and enjoyable craft for me. Something I like about this kind of crafting is that you don’t need to have special skills. You just have to follow your imagination and your taste.
That’d be all for this small DIY. I hope you like it.
Thank you for passsing by and reading my blog.
I’ll talk to you soon in a next post.
Until then, take care of yourself ❤
Ady ❤
