Start a Student Life : Kitchen essential

We’re in Back-to-School time and many young people are starting this wonderful journey called Studies. I’ve been myself a student for 7 years now. And back then, on my first university back-to-school, I wish I would have known a few things about starting to live alone, having my own etc. By now, if you’re a brand new student, you should already have your housing (appartment, room etc) So you must be wondering ” What do I need? What’s necessary? ” And it’s probably not that easy to figure out of Mommy or Daddy is out there, giving you tons of things, just in case… You know, all that stuff you’ll bring with you and you won’t use. And in the mean time, you don’t want to spend billions you want to keep on a budget.

Today, I want to share with you a list of essential for your kitchen space in your future student cocoon,on a budget. I’ll do the same with the other important spaces on next weeks.

Here we go!

Keep in mind you don’t need that much and that the less the better. For the beginning, doing as a minimalist should be the best option.

#1 Fridge. If there’s none on your housing, you’ll need one. Look for a small one and second hand one. Starting a student life demands quite an amount of money and we’re trying to do it on a budget as much as possible. Moreover, having a small fridge will make you buy fresher products and waste less, which is a plus, in my opinion.

#2 Multifunctionnal Cooker. You’ve the fridge to store your food, you’ll need something to cook it. This cooker is simply the best thing ever. It can replace all your devices, oven, pot etc. And it’s easy to carry around and not that big.

#3 Kettle. A must-have for your teas and coffees. And believe me, you’ll drink a lot of them.

#4 Water Filter Carafe. A good alternative for not buying tons of plastic water bottles.

#5 Glass Jars and Boxes. For storage.

#6 Fruits Basket. Both practical and decorative.

#7 Bentobox and Glass bottle. To bring your lunch at university. As a student, I always preferred having my own meal, prepared by myself. It was always cheaper and healthy.

#8 One set of dishes. I mean 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 mug, 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon and 1 pair of sticks (if you study in Asia)

#9 Small Kitchen Essentials. Basically the basis: 1 sponge, 1 cloth, 1 napkin, 1 wooden cutting board, 1 kitchen balance, 1 measuring glass and 1 tin-opener.

# 10 Cleaning Essentials.

From my experience, I know these are the things we really need. Then, with time, we tend to get more stuff, to fill the space and at the end of our studies we realize our stuff duplicated considerably. 😅

Today, I talked about the kitchen space. Next week it’ll be about the bathroom stuff.

Thank you for passing by and reading my blog. I hope you like it.

I’ll talk to you soon in a next post,

Until then, take care of yourself ❤

Ady ❤
