Today, let me share with you my orange marmelade recipe, a winter classic.
When I was a kid, I thought this kind of jam wasn’t for me. It was my mom’s favourite and, only God knows why, we thought that because of that, this jam was forbidden to us. So I rarely ate that jam as a kid. It’s been a few years, since I became a student, that I started to eat some and discover its flavored taste.
Over the years, I’ve been trying recipes, to find my own way to make myself my orange marmalade.
Let me share with you what I’ve come up with.
– 1kg of oranges
– 400g of brown sugar
– some honey
First, put your oranges in the freezer. Cutting frozen oranges is far easier and it prevents from losing juice.
Cut your fruits and mix them with the sugar in a big pot. When you’re done with the cutting, put the pot on the fire. Add water to the mix to the mixing to prevent it from burning. Regularly stir, so it won’t attach to the bottom of the pot. During the cooking, add some honey. I added a tablespoon.
Cook until it gets slightly more liquid than the desired final result. Indeed, when cooling down, the jam will get less liquid and kind of thicker.
Store it in glass jars like usual jam.
And voila !
I hope you like this recipe. 🙂
That’s all for today’s post. Thanks for passing by and reading. 🙂
I’ll talk to you in a next post,
Until then, take care of yourself ❤
