Christmas Snacks

Hello everyone! Here they are, the traditional Christmas snacks! I know these are very popular among all my followers and I’ve to confess, I really enjoy making these. For this year, I’m kind of focused on orange flavoured snacks, but chocolate isn’t far away when it’s Christmas time don’t worry! This time, I wanted to share with you how to make some orange syrup, some orange balls and a chocolate sausage imitation. I hope you’ll like these ideas.

Let’s get started!

Orange syrup

To make it, you’ll need :
-500ml of fresh pressed orange juice
-500g of sugar

Cook it in a saucepan for 10-15 minutes, until the sugar melts in the juice and the mixture gets thicker. The longer it’s cooked, the thicker it’ll be.

Store it in your fridge.

I was in love with my apple cinnamon syrup last year, but this one… That’s a real winner! Perfect 👌🏻

Frozen orange drops

For these you’ll need:
-1/4 cup of unsalted butter
-the zest from half an orange
-3 tablespoons of double cream
-1 cup of white chocolate
-1 teaspoon of orange extract
-1/4 cup of sugar

Melt the butter down with the zest. Once the butter melt, add the cream. Add the chocolate. Let it rest for a minute. Add the extract and mix well. Leave the mixture in the fridge for 2 hours.

Finally pour the sugar in a bowl. Take your cooled down mixture and make some “balls”(don’t know how to call them). Roll them in the sugar and place them in the freezer at least 20 minutes before serving.

Chocolate sausage

For this one, you’ll need:
-130g of dark chocolate
-150g of crushed hazelnuts and walnuts
-50g of butter
-80g of blonds raisins
-10 pim’s cookies orange flavored
-3 tablespoons of icing sugar

First, melt and mix together the chocolate and butter. Add the nuts, crushed cookies and raisins. Mix well. Let it cool-down a bit before rolling it down to create a sausage. Leave it in the fridge cooling overnight.

The next day, roll the sausage into icing sugar, slice it and serve. Store it in your fridge, or it’ll melt down.

Enjoy!
