Hello there! Sorry for not being around for such a long time. I’ve been working very hard these last months for my birthday party, at the beginning of July, and since then, I’ve been recuperating. Other things made me not being very active on social media, my blog etc. But now, things are slowly coming back to normal, so here I am! π
Today, I want to talk with you about two series I’ve been watching a lot when I was a child. I’m talking about “Zorro” with Guy Williams and “Little House on the Prairie” with Melissa Gilbert.
As long as I can remember, these two have filled my childhood with good memories, beautiful stories about life, love, courage, family, justice etc
If you don’t know “Little House on the Prairie”, it’s a serie based on the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder. These books tell us the story of this American woman from the countryside. I especially love this serie since I’ve watched it a lot when I was a kid. The story is simple, talking about Life, essential values such as family, friendship, honesty, etc. Anyone can recognize oneself into Laura or any of her family members / friends. It’s a real life, told without any violence, hate et, but a rather peaceful atmosphere. I think it’s a perfect lesson about life for children and even older ones. You learned good values and in the meantime you have a really good time with this serie. I highly recommend it for everyone! π
The other serie I’m particularly fond of and tied to since my childhood is “Zorro”, from Disney. It’s the story of Diego De La Vega, a young aristocrat who chooses to become Zorro, a masked man whose life goal is to fight against criminals and for justice.
I can remember I’ve been watching it very soon, at my grandparents’ house. This one brings something slightly different to me. It still talks about fundamental values, mainly justice. Whereas Little House has a sensation of family life and peace, Zorro has an adventure and heroic side. It gives more thrills than the Little House. However, both taught me about essential values and give a sweet feeling of comfort and being a child again.
I couldn’t tell you which one is my favourite actually. They are both similar and different. They kind of talk of the same things (History of US and fundamental values) but they use different languages. One takes place in the not so long ago conquered West, mainly Minnesota, and the other takes place in the Spanish California, not American yet. One takes place during the 19the century (Laura Ingalls Wilder was born in 1867 and died in 1957), while the other takes place during the 18the century (California was Spanish from 1769 to 1821). With the first one, we follow a little girl becoming a young girl then a young woman. With the other one, we follow the adventures of a man. Both with them, we learn about the challenges of their own society and era.
If you haven’t already watched these two series, I highly recommend it to you. You’ll enjoy it for sure!
That’s all for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it.
Thank you for passing by and reading my blog. I hope you like it.
