Hello everyone ! Welcome back ! Today we meet again for another Xmas recipe. Over the last years I’ve been sharing with you how to make different Xmas cakes, sweet breads and so on, but I’ve never shared how to make a Xmas pie. So this is what we are up in today’s post !
For this recipe, I wanted to do something different from the classics but still using some classical Xmas ingredients. I chose to make a pie, using orange and chocolate. I then looked for inspo on Pinterest, my many cookbooks and got some ideas on the path I should take. So, here we are, let me show you what I ended up with and how you can make it too at home.
Let’s get started !
For this pie, you’ll need:
For the crust:
- 250g of flour
- 125g of butter
- 50g of icing sugar
- 1 egg
For the filling:
- 2 tablespoons of marmalade
- whipped cream
- 2 tablespoons of cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons of chocolate spread
- crushed biscuits
- 1 tablespoon of icing sugar
- pecan nuts
- orange slices
First, make the crust. Melt down the butter. Mix the flour with the sugar. Then add the butter and the egg. Let it rest for 1 hour in the fridge. Blind bake at 180°C until golden. Let it cool down completely.
Second, make the orange cream. Mix the marmalade with whipped cream, the quantity of cream depends on the volume you need for your pie. Add the cream cheese and the icing sugar. Keep in the fridge until using.
Third, assemble the pie. In the cooled down crust, spread a layer of chocolate spread, then add the crushed biscuits all over. Let it cool down a few minutes in the fridge. When it’s cooled down enough, add all the orange cream. Put back into the fridge to cool down and settle.
Lastly, decorate. Add some pecan nuts and orange slices on top as decoration.
Keep in the fridge until serving.
That’ll be all for today’s post, I hope you like it. Thank you for passing by and reading my blog, I really appreciate.
I’ll talk to you soon in a next post,
Until then, take care of yourself ❤
