Hello everyone ! Welcome back for another recipe ! As today is the last post before starts our first Lent-Easter Serie, I take this opportunity to share with you a last recipe with meat, since I won’t until we get through Easter. Today’s recipe is another great classic I’ve known for ages in my family, it’s the chicken stew, using red wine. It’s both a very easy recipe and an efficient way to impress your guests.
Let’s get started !
You’ll need:
- A chicken (obviously)
- 1L of red wine ( a cheap one will do the job)
- 2 big onions
- some mushrooms
- potatoes
- carrots
- pepper
- salt
- herbs (rosemary, thyme, laurel, parsley)
- garlic
First cut the chicken into pieces, let them marinate with the wine, some oil, pepper, salt, herbs and garlic for at least 12 hours.
Peel off the onions and roast them with some butter and oil in a saucepan. Set them aside. Roast the chicken pieces until they get slightly golden.
Finally in a large crock pot, pour the wine marinade, the chicken and onions and let it stew for about 2 hours.
Add the mushrooms, potatoes and carrots while it cooks.
Serve it hot with some rice and a fresh green lettuce.
That’ll be all for today’s recipe, I hope you like it.
Thank you for passing by and reading my blog. I highly appreciate it.
I’ll talk to you soon in a next post,
Until then, take care of yourself ❤
Ady ❤
