2022 Easter – Making some Easter Decorations

Hello everyone ! How are you ? Today, I would like to share with you some of my decorating pieces for Easter this year. The central piece being an Easter Scenery made from wood, rocks and other.

At first, I wanted to make more things, but I happened not to have enough time, and thus decided to make less but in better. So I focused on making the perfect Easter Scenery for this year Easter. I already made one, out of cardboard, years ago, here is the link if you want to check it out: here.

Easter Scenery

To make this scenery, I used some wood, stones, chalkboard bits and some plaster.

First, I made a draft on my wood board, just to figure out the layout. To help me, I had near by the cardboard version so that I could easily visualize. I went for a quite similar concept, a rotative one.

Using some construction adhesive, I glued a large piece of wood in the center and added some pieces to create on one side the road along Jerusalem’s Walls for Palm Sunday; on an other side a small house shadow for Maundy Thursday; in the center the Golgotha path and Cross for Good Friday; and finally on the last side, the cave turned into a tomb, with the stone rolled away for Easter Morning. I covered most of the wood with some plaster to give a finished look and make the ground look sand/stone-like. I also used some plaster to cover a cheese box to make the Stone of the Tomb, since it was the perfect shape.

Easter Bouquets

A very easy way to decorate your house both for Easter and Spring, is to make some bouquets and display them all around your house, in vases or not. These last days, the ones I’m making are with some green genisteae branches, some forsythia, some whitethorn and some pink peach blossoms. At this time of year, peach blossoms and forysthia are slowly starting to fade, while genisteae is all green and whitethorns are thriving.

As you probably can tell, we’re leaving the Lent-themed content and move towards Easter. Time is really flying ! Next posts will be all about Easter and Passion Week. Thanks for sticking up to me during Lent and for those of you you did it, like me, keep on ! You did a good job, the path is near the end, we can see Easter’s light.

That’ll be all for today’s post. Hope you liked it. Thank you once again for passing by and reading my blog.

I’ll talk to you soon in a next post,

Until then, take care of yourself ❤

Ady ❤
